The 4 hour Mental Health First Aid for the Suicidal Person Course
What the course covers
Participants will be introduced to accurate information about suicide rates and risk factors in the Australian context. They will then be taken through how to use the Mental Health First Aid guidelines in practical situations using real world scenarios.
Participants will use the guidelines to learn how to intervene when someone is experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours and have the opportunity to practice these skills in a safe environment.
This course consists of 4-hours of face-to-face training.Course participants receive a Handbook to keep and receive a digital Certificate of Completion when they submit online feedback.
Who can attend a course
Any interested adult can attend.
Please note this course is not a therapy or support group, rather it is an education course to learn how to give first aid to someone who is feeling suicidal.
The course complements the 12-hour Standard MHFA course, Blended MHFA Courses.
